Polar Bear Plunge
Date: Saturday, February 18, 2012 - 11:30am - 3:00pm
Where: Dobisky Visitors Center
Benefit For: Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad & Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce

 

The Polar Bear Plunge takes place on Saturday, February 18. Registration starts at 11:30 AM. Jumpers start at 1 PM at the City Marina. The cost to enter the plunge is a minumum of $35 in pledges per person, children under 18 years of age must have the written consent of a parent.  The person bringing in the most pledges will win 10% of the purse. Last year $580 was awarded. Pledge forms can be obtained at the Chamber office at Ogdensburg Bridge & Port Authority Administration Building or from this link Pledge Sheet 2012

Once again this year the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad will with be cutting a hole in the ice, providing divers and harnesses and a hot tub will be available on the patio of the Visitor’s Center for after the plunge.  The participants will have the boaters lounge at the Visitor’s Center for their changing quarters and hot showers. Hot food and drinks will be available at the Visitors Center for spectators and plungers alike.
